Keces Audio Ephono+: New Adjustable MM/MC Phono Preamp With External Linear Power Supply

Taiwan-based audio manufacturer Keces Audio has announced a new phono amplifier called the Ephono+. The new Ephono+ is adjustable and was first presented at the 2025 Munich High End Audio Show. The device features an external power supply and supports both MM and MC cartridges.

Keces Audio Ephono+: external power supply

The Ephono+ follows a circuit design that consistently isolates the signal processing from all possible sources of interference. Partly for this reason, the manufacturer has implemented an external linear power supply. This separation of the power supply and audio circuits not only serves to minimize noise but also to ensure mechanical decoupling, as transformers and power sections must have absolutely no influence on the delicate structure of the phono signal. Robust housings, high-quality connectors, and a durable construction underscore this commitment. The power supply features overheating and overload protection, is robustly designed, and thus forms the sonic foundation of the entire system.

Keces Audio Ephono+: adjustable and suitable for MM and MC cartridges

Technically, the Ephono+ is exceptionally flexible. MM and MC cartridges can be precisely adjusted via defined gain stages and impedance values. According to the manufacturer, this is a prerequisite for pure, low-distortion reproduction. Furthermore, Keces Audio has integrated a complete equalizer section for the optical cartridges from the Japanese DS Audio, making the device a universally applicable control center in the world of vinyl.

The subsonic filter is a useful addition in everyday use, minimizing low-frequency interference caused by warped records or turntable resonances. The choice between RCA and XLR connections allows for use in both classic and modern balanced hi-fi systems.
