MartinLogan has outfitted its Motion Foundation speakers, a new entry-level line, with a Gen2 Obsidian Folded Motion S ribbon tweeter. The pleated diaphragm allows for more surface area, what? according to MartinLogan? resulted in “incredible detail and clarity with astounding realism”. The Folded Motion waveguide corrects the radiation pattern to avoid harmful reflections.
At low and medium frequencies, the speakers with aluminum cones work in the Motion Foundation speakers. Experience with such sources is taken from the older MartinLogan, Motion and Motion XT series. At the same time, the acoustics of the center channel from the Motion Foundation series received a 2.5-way Anti-Lobing design.
The MartinLogan Motion Foundation series includes two more floorstanding speakers, the junior F1 and the flagship F2, as well as a couple of shelf models, the junior B1 and the senior B2. All are available in white, black or walnut finishes.
In the US, MartinLogan Motion Foundation speakers cost $1,000 F2, $750 F1, $400 B2, $300 B1, and $500 C1 each (not a pair).
