The Spanish manufacturer Lorenzo Audio Labs will present its first set of amplifiers at the upcoming High End audio fair in Munich, Germany. The 211PP is a mono power amplifier and the 2A3 is a preamplifier consisting of two cabinets. Both the power amplifiers and the preamplifier have tube circuits.

Lorenzo Audio Labs: first speakers, now also amplifiers

Lorenzo Audio Labs (LAL) is a young Spanish audio manufacturer that has so far included four loudspeakers in its portfolio. The new tube amplifiers are the first active components and the Spanish manufacturer promises to immediately offer the highest level of reproduction.

The cabinets of the new amplifiers, like the speakers, are made of Panzerholz wood. This wood is highly prized for its non-resonant properties and linearity across the entire audio range, combined with exquisite aesthetics using the finest woods, inlays and a meticulous high-gloss finish. The result is a true work of art to behold.

Lorezno Audio Labs 211PP: mono power amplifier with 211 tubes

After years of testing and development, LAL has opted for a push-pull configuration with directly heated triodes, where the 211 tubes offer the transparency and harmonic richness of a single-ended 55 Watt power without feedback. At the heart of this stage is a dual Core C amorphous output transformer weighing 12 kilograms, with the legendary 2A3 tube driving the 211 tubes through a phase-shift intermediate stage, accompanied by a series of state-of-the-art components, such as MKP gel filter capacitors with a lifespan of more than 30,000 hour and ultrafast rectifiers. And to eliminate any residual noise, the filaments are equipped with over 140,000 uF of smoothing capacitance all powered by a dual power supply via two independent transformers for low and high voltage. All circuits are soldered by hand without the use of printed circuit boards.

Lorenzo Audio Labs 2A3: tube preamplifier with power supply in separate cabinet

A set of high-quality power amplifiers naturally needs an equally high-quality preamplifier. The 2A3 should form the perfect companion for the 211PP mono power amplifiers. The chassis of the amplifier and the power supply of the 2A3 is also made of forty millimeter thick Panzerholz. The 2A3 tube fittings are also CNC machined from Panzerholz wood, as are the housings for the capacitors and the preamp feet. They say that no detail is skipped to achieve maximum sound quality.

A lot of attention has also been paid to technology. The 2A3 has a dual power supply, one for high voltage and the other for filaments only to minimize mutual noise. A smoothing capacity of 80,000 uF and two chokes make the preamplifier with the great Emission Labs 2A3 tube absolutely quiet. Dueland coupling capacitors ensure maximum naturalness and transparency of the display.

The high-voltage filter system is equipped with MKP capacitors and three independent inductors. No negative feedback was applied. The volume control has 66 steps and can also be operated with the remote control.

The 2A3 has six cinch inputs at line level and two cinch outputs.

The global launch of the new amplifiers will take place at High End Munich 2024, Hall 2, room F12/H01.
