PS Audio Stellar S300 continues a forty-year tradition of designing products with ultra-high value and superb sound quality. PS Audio’s engineering team of director Paul McGowan, lead engineer Bob Stadtherr, and development engineer Darren Myers put together everything they’ve learned to create the industry’s most advanced products – the BHK Signature and DirectStream, as well as the advanced Gain Cell and Analog Cell. We added the latest in Class D amplification technology and ensured that the new components performed to the highest PS Audio standards.
PS Audio Stellar S300 is the ultimate stereo power amplifier, which belongs to the new proprietary Stellar series. The design of the PS Audio Stellar S300 is built around a special circuit based on the Analog Cell, invented by the main designer of the series, Darren Myers. In fact, this device has a hybrid topology that allows you to “make friends” of a class A balanced input section equipped with MOSFET transistors with a powerful high-current output stage created in accordance with class D technologies. As a result, the PS Audio Stellar S300 amplifier combines elegance, warmth and the richness of A-Class detail with the linearity, dynamics, punch, impressive rhythm, high efficiency and low distortion of D-Class.
PS Audio Stellar S300 is assembled in a neat low-profile case and fully meets audiophile canons and has circuitry that corresponds to the “dual mono” principle. In this design, each channel has a separate power supply and remains completely independent, which helps to significantly reduce distortion. The model has serious power ratings of 300 W per channel at a load of 4 ohms and 140 W at 8 ohms, and thanks to the high damping coefficient and the ability to operate stably even with a two-ohm load, the amplifier can easily cope with any speaker system. Among the features of the PS Audio Stellar S300, a wide frequency range should also be noted.
The PS Audio Stellar S300 has undergone a painstaking fine-tuning process. All those endless hours spent by PS Audio engineers in the Music Room One resulted in a superior-sounding unit that delivers precision, attention to detail, and a wide, deep soundstage.
Along with the usual unbalanced inputs, the amplifier is equipped with a pair of balanced input connectors. For example, such a device can be connected to an external digital-to-analog converter with an XLR output and a built-in preamplifier. The power amplifier will also be a convenient option for organizing a two-wire connection of speaker systems, as it has four pairs of terminals (two pairs for each channel).
The PS Audio Stellar Series includes a total of five models:
The Stellar Gain Cell DAC combines advanced Gain Cell analog amplification cell technology with a full-featured DAC capable of reproducing DSD output from our new DirectStream Memory Player. The Stellar S300 Stereo Amplifier
features a Class A analog input stage and a Class D power output stage. Warmth and bass punch in one product with 300 W/ch output power into 4 ohms. The Stellar M700 Mono Amplifier features a Class A analog input stage and an even more powerful Class D output stage: 700W into 4 ohms for stunningly rich sound that can drive any speaker. The Stellar Phono Preamplifier has two inputs that support both moving coil (MC) and moving magnet (MM) cartridges .
