Featuring exceptionally high power, the SimAudio Moon Neo 400M monoblock amplifier is capable of driving virtually any speaker system on the market while delivering the highest level of audio fidelity and realism. The low frequencies of the Moon Neo 400M are exceptionally dense and full-bodied. High frequencies have excellent resolution. In general, the sound of the Moon Neo 400M monoblocks allows us to talk about the closest possible approach to live performance.
When combined with the Moon Neo 390 preamplifier, this power amplifier produces results that are virtually unattainable with other components in this price category. The sound of this combination fully meets the expectations of the most discerning listeners, who do not accept compromises in terms of fidelity, even at the highest volume levels.
The proprietary design geometry, aimed at lowering the temperature of the device, very effectively copes with overheating of the amplifier. The advanced power supply includes a large toroidal transformer with a capacity of almost 100,000μF. Finally, balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs add to the Moon Neo 400M’s reputation for being the best combination of affordability and performance.
Transistors in the output stage of the SimAudio Moon Neo 400M amplifier electrically amplify the music signal. The higher the quality of the transistors, the more reliable and holistic the sound of the amplifier will be. Additionally, since there are multiple transistors in the output stages of each channel, all transistors must be carefully matched to each other to ensure this sound integrity.
Refusal to use capacitors at the amplifier input has improved sound quality, in particular, by eliminating the phase shift that their use leads to. In this case, the reproduced range in the low-frequency region comes close to 0 Hz. Also, by eliminating the use of capacitors in the audio signal chain, it was possible to achieve exceptional focus of the sound stage without “smearing” or “blurring”.
The power supply transformer, which has very tight stabilization, makes it possible to provide power parameters close to the design ideal even when working with a complex load. These transformers are much more expensive than those used in most other amplifiers, but they are the only way to achieve absolute power stability and therefore high quality playback under all conditions. SimAudio Moon Neo 400M has all the basic features such as communication protocol support, 12V trigger input and RS-232 port.
