The Soncoz SGP1 is a massive Class AB amplifier designed for integration into high-resolution audio systems, which the brand has been working on for three years. In addition to comfortable power, it delivers superior SNR and THD, offering a whole new level of performance in the world of discrete Class AB amplifiers.
Each parallel NPN/PNP channel with push-pull output allows the SGP1 to more comfortably accompany demanding speaker systems. The SGP1 is also a model that reveals wonderful musical expression, with deep bass and clear highs.
High audio resolution goes hand in hand with low noise and distortion. So the brand has done some real design work to achieve superior measurements. The SGP1 delivers 130dB SNR at maximum output level (A-Weighted), making it 15-30dB quieter than many high-end amplifiers today.
In the SGP1, Soncoz paid great attention to the power stage so that it can provide the large amount of power required to operate the amplifier modules. This allows the SGP1 to provide immediate and continuous power delivery. Following the AC input, the SGP1 is equipped with two four large 2700uF 200V capacitors, which effectively suppress power supply interference and noise, thereby providing a clean electrical signal to all audio circuits.
Unlike most Class AB power amplifiers, the SGP1 reaches peak performance in less than a minute. Therefore, there is no need to leave the device turned on when not in use. In addition, the SGP1 driver module provides high stability over a wide temperature range.
The role of a power amplifier is to amplify the audio signal with high precision to enable the speakers to develop precise motion. Thus, the SGP1 is able to meet the high power requirements and impedance variations of loudspeakers. To achieve this goal, a patented module of four pairs of parallel push-pull amplifier circuits with transistors is used to provide good extension in the high frequency region. These circuits reduce distortion at high frequencies or at low volumes, resulting in extremely low noise levels and incredible sonic fidelity.
The Soncoz SGP1 features two large side-mounted radiators, each constructed from a single block of aluminum and precision machined. This design provides a heat dissipation area of more than 300 mm² per amplifier. In addition, the radiator fins are slightly different in thickness, which helps reduce resonance. This high efficiency of the radiators greatly increases the cooling capacity of the device for safe operation at full power.
The patented driver module developed by Soncoz virtually eliminates all traces of distortion, regardless of input signal level and load conditions. The SGP1 exhibits no crossover distortion when the driver module is combined with push-pull output stages, allowing for accurate low frequency reproduction.
