Yamaha, based on its extensive experience in the field of music, has created a device that can faithfully reproduce all the nuances and emotional color of a performance. In pursuit of that intangible musical quality that breathes life into audio of the highest fidelity, the world’s largest audio equipment company introduces the Yamaha C-5000 preamplifier.
The Yamaha C-5000 preamplifier is designed from the ground up to deliver an unparalleled listening experience, including its aesthetically pleasing appearance and soft-touch materials. The front panel of the device features original design knobs and switches that combine innovation and craftsmanship. The volume control features ball bearings and carefully machined aluminum to create a heavy-feeling, precision-engineered volume control. The switches are also optimized for ease of use.
The Yamaha C-5000 uses balanced transmission with a discrete stage design at all stages of the signal path in tone control bypass mode. A patented design is used on the phono amplifier and line amplifier stages, eliminating the effect of ground noise on the signal.
The “spread book” design for the preamp circuit board provides mirrored left and right channel signal paths to ensure precise matching and matching of their characteristics. Because both channels are physically identical, the Yamaha C-5000 can most accurately reproduce the width and depth of sound. Additionally, when other components are connected, ground noise is minimized.
The use of two independent toroidal transformers for the left and right channels provides optimal separation for accurate recreation of the recorded sound space. Low magnetic leakage reduces negative impact on the audio signal. After careful research and test listening, the power transformer was enclosed in a copper-clad housing to suppress magnetic flux and vibration. In addition, this housing helps reduce the effect of flow on the phono stage. More accurate signal reproduction makes the sound soft, airy and all-encompassing.
The copper plating of the body reduces the effect of voltage on the electronics of the device, and therefore the Yamaha C-5000 can convey both powerful bass and the smallest nuances of sound. In addition, thick cables and screw terminals are used to reduce power supply impedance and maximize audio transmission. Yamaha delivers premium sound quality by delivering balanced signals between its flagship lineup, which also includes the GT-5000 turntable and M-5000 amplifier.
When designing the flagship amplifier, the C-5000, every detail was taken into account. Its design is characterized by high craftsmanship and conveys the desire for the highest quality sound. And the legs were no exception. Special legs made of strong brass, the same as on the Yamaha M-5000 model, act as supports that fully support the device. They can also be used in combination with pads to protect delicate surfaces from scratches.
