E1DA 9039S is a new DAC headphone amplifier based on the ESS E1DA 9039S chip. The new product also received amplifiers AD8397 and OPA1612.
Characteristics of E1DA 9039S:
- Materials: Sandblasted anodized aluminum
- Connectors: Taiwanese, Susumu resistors, Kemet, TDK, Murata components.
- Power: USB 5V connection, no internal battery, 150mA idle current, device contains 4500uF low ESR solid polymer capacitors.
- Input: USB-C with improved clamping, supports PCM up to 32bit/384kHz, DSD256.
- Output: Balanced 2.5 mm jack according to A&K circuit. Do not use unbalanced adapters! This may damage the DAC.
- Output resistance: 0.1 Ohm at 1000 Hz, measured with an Agilent U1733C.
- Load capacitance: Less than 6800 pF, using a long cable of 2-3 m is not recommended.
- Output Power: More than 400 mW at 32 ohms at 1 kHz with THD = 1% for each channel; over 680 mW at 16 ohms at 1 kHz with THD = 1% for each channel.
- Frequency response: DC-130 kHz (+0.05/-3 dB at 32 bit/384 kHz, -0.5 dB at 45 kHz). Limited by constant current protection.
- Dynamic range: 130 dB (A-weighted), real value with small noise level variations from full scale.
- THD+N at 1 kHz and -0 dBFS: -125.66 dB, averaged over 10 samples at 32 bit/96 kHz into a 10 kΩ load and 49 MHz.
- THD at 1 kHz and -0 dBFS: -140 dB typical, calibrated using the Cosmos APU at 32-bit/96 kHz into a 10 kΩ load and 49 MHz.
- Crosstalk: Less than -150 dB at 1 kHz into 10 kohms or -143 dB into 32 ohms.
- Dimensions: 48x22x9 mm.
- Weight: 10 g.
