Beats by Dre brought the lifestyle factor to listening to music with headphones. Now the Apple subsidiary is presenting a new version of its wireless model, Solo 4, and its in-ears Solo Buds.
When developing the Solo 4 model, Beats focused on comfort and a secure fit. At just 217 grams, it is also a real lightweight. The ear cushions are called UltraPlush and promise high durability; the ergonomically angled ear cups are intended to ensure a comfortable fit on the one hand and good sound projection on the other.
Wireless via Bluetooth or wired playback
Equipped with 40 mm sound transducers and Personalized Spatial Audio, Beats’ Solo 4 is intended to enable an immersive surround sound experience. Compatibility with iOS and Android makes it possible to automatically set up accounts on all applicable devices at the touch of a button.
Beats Solo 4 connects wirelessly with Bluetooth , or wired via USB -C audio for lossless sound and simultaneous charging, as well as a 3.5mm analog input for high-resolution, battery-free wired playback.
Beats Solo 4 battery lasts up to 50 hours
Compared to its predecessor, the Solo 4 model offers a longer battery life: up to 50 hours should be possible. The so-called “Fast Fuel” quick charging function allows a 10-minute charge for up to 5 hours of playback time.
The Beats Solo 4 is available now in three color options – Matte Black, Slate Blue, and Cloud Pink – for $199.99 via apple.com.
Shrinking treatment for the Solo Buds
According to Beats, the new Solo Buds have the smallest case the company has ever made. Ergonomically designed ear tips and laser-cut ventilation openings are intended to ensure improved audio performance and increased wearing comfort – as are the ear tips, which come in four sizes (XS, S, M and L). According to the manufacturer, the Solo Buds’ “dual layer ” sound transducers minimize micro-distortions across the entire frequency curve.
Solo Buds available from June
The Solo Buds are also equipped with Bluetooth connectivity and microphones, which means they can be used as a headset: With the customizable on-ear functions you can choose your own music, answer calls and activate a voice assistant. The batteries should last up to 18 hours, with quick charging allowing another hour of operating time. Solo Buds are available in four color options: Matte Black, Storm Gray, Arctic Purple and Transparent Red. They will be available starting in June for $79.99 .
