French manufacturer Focal has launched two new headphones. Both models have over-ear earcups and are wired. The Hadesys has open ear cups and the Azurys has closed ear cups. The drivers come from the wireless Bathys. Delivery is expected to start in June.
Focal Hadenys: Dynamic open over-ear headphones
According to the designers of the Focal Hadenys, these passive headphones with an open design are intended for home use. Inspired by The Hadean, an era when the Earth was first formed, the brown color evokes a return to the source, giving the headphones an organic, timeless style.
That’s nice mythology, but what about the technology? Focal has incorporated its own technologies and strong design codes into the Hadenys, such as honeycomb grilles, genuine leather and a breathable woven fabric headband and yoke for even more comfort and lightness. With Hadenys, listening at home is accurate, dynamic and warm, according to Focal.
Focal Azurys: dynamic closed over-ear headphones for multifunctional use
The Azurys are passive headphones, just like the Hadenys, but the ear cups are closed, making them suitable for use at home or on the road. They are aimed at all music lovers and enthusiasts who want to enjoy the sound of Focal through an accessible product. With the same design and high-quality materials as Hadenys, i.e. genuine leather, woven fabric, aluminum, magnesium, etc., the Azurys stands out for its unique bluish hue, inspired by Azurite, a semi-precious stone with many virtues. This shade gives the headphones a unique, mesmerizing effect, emphasizing their attractive aesthetics.
Focal Hadenys and Azurys: drivers
The Hadenys and Azurys feature drivers designed and manufactured in France at Focal’s workshops in Saint-Étienne. These drivers are the same as those in the Bathys headphones , which launched in October 2022 as the brand’s first wireless headphones with Active Noise Canceling (ANC). The 40 millimeter drivers with aluminum/magnesium ‘M’-shaped dome are perfectly matched to these passive headphones and deliver detailed, warm and dynamic sound. Focal pays meticulous attention to every detail and provides each headset with a matching colored carrying case and necessary cables.
Focal Hadenys and Azurys: prices and delivery information
Delivery is expected to start in June 2024. The Hadenys will retail for 699 euros and the Azurys for 549 euros.
