Focal Stellia is a closed-back, full-length HI-END headphone that, along with its open-back Utopia counterparts, heads Focal’s headphone lineup. The headphones boast a somewhat unusual design and have an original color scheme. The mechanism for adjusting and attaching aluminum fork holders to the headband, providing a certain degree of freedom for more precise adjustment to the shape and size of the head, is borrowed from the Utopia model.
The headband is trimmed with genuine leather with an internal perforated lining. The model features good passive noise insulation thanks to the use of easily removable ear pads 20 mm thick, which have memory foam filling and are covered with genuine leather with a natural, unpolished front surface. The Focal Stellia is equipped with highly efficient, new generation 40mm drivers with very thin and durable beryllium domes with an M-shaped cross-section. The drivers are equipped with elastic suspensions and frameless coils with pure copper wires. A special high-frequency absorber made of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA foam) is installed behind the membranes.
The earcups have mini bass reflex ports that help expand the frequency response, as well as acoustic diffusers designed to eliminate internal standing waves. The flagship has a low impedance of 35 Ohms, which allows it to be connected to mobile phones, tablets and other portable equipment.
Focal Stellia stereo phones come with two straight, reversible cables that attach to the ear cups using 3.5mm connectors using a snap-on mechanism. One of them has a balanced 4-pin XLR plug and is three meters long, and the second, shorter one, is equipped with a 3.5 mm plug and is designed for connection to portable equipment. The cable conductors are made of high purity OFC copper. The kit also includes an adapter for connecting to 6.3 mm jacks and a hard-shaped case designed for storing and transporting headphones.
