BlueSound Node N132: Third-generation universal network streamer

BlueSound Node N132
BlueSound Node N132

The Bluesound Node N132 is a third-generation universal network streamer from Node, which will be the perfect audio source for a modern Hi-Fi stereo system or home theater. The player can also be used as a hub in the proprietary wireless multi-room ecosystem, controlled using the BluOS Controller application, which works with virtually any OS (iOS, Android, macOS or Windows). The application provides access to hundreds of Internet radio stations and music streaming services, including TIDAL, Qobuz, Deezer, Spotify and others, as well as to audio files stored on local network servers. At the same time, the proprietary BluOS platform is used, which allows you to connect up to 64 streaming devices and transmit an audio stream with a resolution of 24 bit / 192 kHz.

The Bluesound Node N132 streamer is equipped with a powerful 4-core Quad-Core ARM Cortex A53 processor and a modern 32-bit DAC that supports PCM at a resolution of up to 24 bits/192 kHz and allows you to work with the MQA format.

The Bluesound Node N132 player has a dual-band Wi-Fi circuit that provides reliable wireless communication, as well as a Bluetooth module with the ability to receive and transmit a signal, which allows you to transmit an audio stream to wireless headphones. The module supports the aptX HD codec, which provides sound as close as possible to Hi-Res audio (up to 24 bit / 48 kHz). The Apple AirPlay 2 protocol is available, allowing you to organize a wireless multiroom based on Apple devices.

The model is assembled in a compact case with a matte finish and a touch control panel built into its upper part. On the front there is a 3.5 mm headphone output, and all the main switching is located in the back of the case. There is an analog RCA output with the ability to operate in two modes – fixed or adjustable. The adjustable mode allows you to switch Bluesound Node N132 with active speakers or a power amplifier. There are coaxial and optical outputs, a subwoofer connector and a 3.5 mm Aux, combined with an optical input. A gigabit Ethernet port is used to connect to a local network, and a USB port is used to connect external drives. There is also an HDMI connector on board with support for the extended return channel eARC, which is important if you have a TV with HDMI switching.

The Bluesound Node N132 also comes with an optional Bluesound RC1 remote control. However, the BluOS Controller app is much more convenient to use, and support for Siri, Alexa, and Google Voice lets you give the player voice commands. The model can be easily integrated into a smart home system and controlled using platforms such as Lutron, Elan, RTI, and Crestron. Dirac Live Ready: With a Dirac license and microphone, you can use the Bluesound Node N132 and Dirac to measure room acoustics and optimize the sound output that best suits your space.
