FX-Audio Tube-05: Preamp/headphone amplifier launched

FX-Audio Tube-05 is a compact device from FX-AUDIO. This desktop headphone amplifier/preamplifier is based on the use of an ECC82 (or 12AU7) tube. It is part of the brand’s “GOOD TIME” series. This series is represented by products with demanding aesthetics and choice of components. Indeed, the Tube-05 features an innovative look and form factor, as well as quality components such as WIMA and Nichicon capacitors and a JRC NJW1194 volume control IC with output selector and tone control. There is a knob/potentiometer on the front panel, and a remote control is included for a more pleasant operation of the device. In terms of connectivity, the TUBE-05 features a stereo RCA input, an RCA line output, and two single-ended headphone outputs: 3.5mm jack and 6.35mm jack.

Tube-05 is equipped with a PSVANE ECC82 tube. Using this tube in the audio signal path will add roundness and warmth to the sound of the Tube-05 headphone amplifier/preamplifier. Of course, you can choose a different tube to get a different sound. Many lamp models are compatible: ECC82, 12AU7, 6N10, 7316, CV4003, 5814, B749 and 6189.

FX Audio decided to integrate a stereo digital volume control with output selector and tone control into the headphone amplifier/preamplifier. This volume control has low noise, low distortion characteristics thanks to its resistor network (R2R) design.
