Gold Note PA-1175 MkII is a power amplifier, where the output stage uses 4 pairs of selected transistors for each channel. The power is up to 200 Watts per channel, and in bridge mode, if the device is used as a monoblock, it increases to 520 Watts! Such indicators require the use of a special power transformer, and it is here. The power supply features a custom 640VA toroidal transformer housed in a special noise-isolating chamber similar to what Ducati uses in its racing motorcycles.

The amplifier is equipped with an innovative bias current control system (OPTICAL BIAS), which uses optical devices to control the reference voltage, and is much more stable than traditional electronic systems. In addition, the Gold Note PA-1175 MkII uses an optical protection system for the output stages, which, unlike traditional protection systems, is completely separated from the signal circuits and does not reduce sound quality.

One of the most interesting features of the Gold Note PA-1175 MkII is the DF button on the front panel, which allows you to select the amplifier’s damping factor of 25 or 250. The choice depends on the sensitivity of the speakers, as well as the amount of bass you want to get.

The Gold Note PA-1175 MkII uses top-level electronic components and proprietary rhodium-plated acoustic terminals. The amplifier is mounted on a rigid chassis made of steel bars; the outer part of the housing is made of thick aluminum panels that reduce the influence of magnetic fields and radio interference. The amplifier was designed by architect Stefano Bonifazi.

An original feature available to users of Gold Note PA-1175 MkII is switching the dumping factor indicator between 250 and 25 units. A larger value is suitable for large, tight speakers, while a smaller value is ideal for using an amplifier with highly sensitive speakers. The weight of the device, housed in a solid case made of steel and aluminum, is 22 kilograms.
