The South Korean brand presented the RA280 integrated amplifier, which operates in class D (the company itself calls it class AD) using GaN FET transistors and, with its design, evokes inevitable associations with Nagra equipment. However, the new product does not look as provocative as the previously released RA180, which occupies a higher position in the brand hierarchy.
The device is made according to the “dual mono” topology and is equipped with three line inputs on RCA connectors, one balanced (XLR), an MM phono stage and a subwoofer output.
The amplifier develops a power of 2 x 250 W at 4 – 8 Ohms, a two-level analog filter allows you to almost completely get rid of noise, which is already small, thanks to the high PWM frequency. The power supply is built on FET transistors based on silicon carbide.
Frequency range 10 Hz – 66 kHz (-1 dB), total harmonic distortion level no more than 0.007% (125 W), damping factor >250, signal-to-noise ratio 109 dB (line inputs), 85 dB (Phono input) . Dimensions 430 x 355 x 103 mm, weight 9.5 kg.
Sales begin in Europe in February, recommended price: €3,450.
