For many enthusiasts of high-fidelity audio, music streaming has evolved into an essential aspect of their passion. Since the inception of the streaming phenomenon, the innovative company Silent Angel has been at the forefront, offering intriguing components. Originating from China, Silent Angel is a spin-off of the cloud and network expert Thunder Data. Their latest unveiling, the Munich MU, represents Silent Angel’s flagship network player designed to meet the highest standards of performance and sophistication.
The Munich MU boasts a formidable six-core processor, a precision clock, and an ESS Saber DAC, delivering unparalleled audio performance. Encased in double-layer aluminum of superior quality, Silent Angel has ensured both robustness and aesthetic appeal for this state-of-the-art network streamer.
With both analog (Cinch and XLR) and digital outputs (AES/EBU, I2S, USB, and S/PDIF), it serves as a comprehensive network player or a pure streaming bridge when paired with a high-quality external DAC.
But that’s not all: The internal memory can be expanded up to 8 terabytes using an “ultra-fast” NVMe SSD for an additional fee, transforming the Silent Angel Munich MU into a self-sufficient digital source. Moreover, the “quiet angel” seamlessly integrates with existing music servers/NAS, external hard drives, and popular streaming services.
Controlled through the “VitOS Orbiter” app, available for both Android and iOS, Silent Angel ensures seamless management and playback of music stored on the network or directly on the Munich MU.
Furthermore, Silent Angel provides upgrade options for enthusiasts. Users have the flexibility to connect an external clock to the coaxial 10 MHz input, enhancing precision. Additionally, the option to replace the power supply with the superior “Forrester F2” is available for those seeking even higher quality performance.
