S.M.S.L has released a new model of a universal device, DP5SE , which combines the functions of a digital-to-analogue converter, network player, pre-amplifier and headphone amplifier.
The DAC unit in the model is built on ES9039Q2M chips from ESS Saber , characterized by an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. The model can play music from streaming services, as well as files from network drives and external USB drives, as well as memory cards. For network integration, the player has a full range of wireless and physical interfaces.
The device can decode 32-bit/384 kHz PCM signals and DSD256 streams , and fully supports the MQA format . The digital signal can be output to an external DAC via coaxial and optical outputs, as well as via AES/EBU and I2S format connectors. For connection to power amplifiers, RCA and XLR outputs are provided on the rear panel. The overall dimensions of the device are 228 x 210 x 71 mm , the maximum power of the headphone amplifier is 89 mW at 32 Ohms.
