The famous Japanese brand STAX, owned by the Chinese company Edifier, has introduced the third generation of portable DAC/amplifier for electrostatic headphones – the SRM-D10 MK II model.
The main change compared to the first generation device: instead of a digital-to-analog converter on the ESS ES9018 chip, an AKM AK4493 chip is used, interfaces for connecting to the source and for charging the built-in battery are USB-C. Headphone output – XLR 5-pin.
Maximum output voltage – 200 V rms, gain – 53 dB. The level of harmonic distortion is no more than 0.0025% (1 kHz – 10 kHz). The bias voltage is 580 V. The battery charge lasts for 3.5 hours when using a digital input and up to 4.5 hours when using an analog input. Dimensions 75 x 141 x 32 mm, weight 475 g.
In Japan, the new product will go on sale in January.
