At the upcoming High End Show 2024 in Munich, TAD Laboratories will present the TAD-C700 preamplifier , complementing the legendary brand’s reference range of audio components.

The new TAD-C700 preamplifier incorporates a host of technical innovations to achieve “a new level of performance”, replacing the TAD-C600 – TAD’s previous top-of-the-line preamplifier, released in 2011.

Preamplifier TAD-C700

The TAD-C700 preamplifier is equipped with a current feedback input stage with a minimum number of amplification elements. A special output amplifier circuit, provided for each of the two adjustable outputs, eliminates mutual interference from connected equipment.

The TAD-C700 preamplifier is made in a fully balanced circuit design, combined with the “dual mono” concept, and even the length of the wires and their routing are the same for the processing circuits of the positive and negative half-waves of the signal, as well as between both channels.

The TAD-C700 preamplifier is equipped with an external power supply, which eliminates the penetration of mechanical vibrations and electromagnetic interference into signal circuits. All connectors, mounting terminals for electronic boards and screws are made of oxygen-free copper and coated with non-magnetic materials, eliminating even the slightest magnetic interference. The power supply contains a toroidal power transformer with a rated power of 400 VA. The power supply is housed in a rigid monocoque made of cast aluminum to suppress unwanted vibrations. All TAD-C700 preamplifier modules are housed on a durable sub-chassis made of 33mm thick aluminum panels with a total weight of 15kg.

TAD’s custom volume control electronics are a switched impedance bar that TAD claims provide precise signal attenuation and ultra-low distortion of less than 0.0005% at 1V input. Additionally, the power circuit uses TAD’s custom electrolytic smoothing capacitors , as well as high-capacity, ultra-low-distortion film output coupling capacitors to achieve a wider low-frequency range.

The TAD-C700 preamplifier’s switching arsenal includes a recording line output that allows input audio signals to be output directly, bypassing the volume control circuitry. The new product also features a pass-through mode, which outputs input signals to the output connectors without changing the signal level.
