Denon AVR-X1700H

The Denon AVR-X1700H receiver incorporates cutting-edge features and technologies while remaining competitively priced. This receiver serves as the foundation for a contemporary audio/video system, enabling high-quality movie viewing and music listening experiences. The development of the seven-channel AVR-X1700H was led by Shinichi Yamauchi, Denon’s chief sound engineer. In collaboration with a semiconductor manufacturer, new high-performance output transistors were created under his guidance. Efforts were made to lower the output impedance of the DAC, pre-amplifier, and power amplifier. Various components and materials were upgraded, including modifications to the specifications of the electrolytic capacitors. Specially designed capacitors with a capacity of 10,000 μF, tailored for use in smoothing filters, were specifically ordered for the AVR-X1700H. Additionally, at Yamauchi’s direction, the power supply stabilizer circuits for the DAC, DSP, and HDMI board were reengineered. The frequency of the pulse power supply was tripled and isolated from the rest of the circuitry by a shielding mechanism.

The Denon AVR-X1700H has a 7.2 configuration, which is also rare in this price category. The device has decoders for 3D sound formats Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and on its basis you can create systems in a 5.2.2 configuration. This will allow you to fully sound most living rooms in an ordinary city apartment. This model also has a Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization processor, which will add volume to standard soundtracks. For convenient setup of the home theater system, this model has Audyssey MultEQ XT auto-calibration technology.

The Denon AVR-X1700H is equipped with six HDMI inputs and an output with support for the latest HDCP2.3 standard. The device can not only switch video with 8K/60 Hz, Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HGL parameters, but also supports eARC technology, which allows you to transmit sound in 3D formats. Also, thanks to the Low Latency mode, the AV receiver can be used with game consoles.

The device also has a USB port for flash drives with music files. The AV receiver can play tracks in High-res PCM and DSD formats, and you can use a cable or Wi-Fi to connect to the network. The list of wireless technologies of the Denon AVR-X1700H also includes AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth, which provides an easy connection to mobile devices. To control the AV receiver, you can use a proprietary application, as well as voice commands through the popular Google Assistant, Alexa or Siri services.
