Grimani CinemaFive Ensemble: A compact but very powerful home cinema system

Grimani Systems has launched the CinemaFive Ensemble, an active surround sound system tailored for home theaters featuring a 5.4 configuration and delivering a total power output of 2,160 watts. This system comprises five active two-way Rixos – S satellite speakers and four active Epsilon subwoofers. All components are housed in slim enclosures, allowing for discreet installation within the walls or designated niches of the room. The manufacturer states that this system is suitable for home cinemas ranging from 14 to 28 square meters in size.

Rixos S (where S denotes small) is a two-way active speaker system that incorporates an active crossover and individual amplification for each frequency band. This speaker is designed for flush wall mounting. Additional features include:

The Grimani Epsilon subwoofer features a 10-inch active design equipped with active DSP technology. Similar to the Rixos S speakers, it offers the flexibility of being flush-mounted or wall-mounted. Additionally, it comes with an equalizer, calibration capabilities, diagnostic tools, and continuous IP monitoring.

Why four subwoofers?

The Grimani CinemaFive Ensemble system stands out due to its incorporation of four subwoofers. This design offers numerous benefits. In larger spaces, a single subwoofer may not deliver adequate coverage. Utilizing multiple subwoofers can more effectively address issues such as sound localization and the presence of dead zones. In various room configurations, each subwoofer can operate with less intensity compared to a single, larger unit, leading to reduced distortion and enhanced dynamic headroom. Additionally, a set of smaller subwoofers occupies less physical space than one large subwoofer.

The Grimani CinemaFive Ensemble home theater system is now on the market with a recommended retail price of $36,000. This investment includes five Rixos S speakers, four Epsilon subwoofers, and all necessary amplification components.
