Based on the Marantz SR7015 AV receiver, the Marantz AV7706 AV processor was developed, which received the same functionality, only without built-in power amplifiers. According to the manufacturer, they should be replaced by external power amplifiers, which will provide even more impressive performance. Marantz recommends pairing with models such as the Marantz MM8077 7-channel power amplifier, the Marantz MM7055 5-channel amplifier , or the Marantz MM7025 2-channel amplifier .
Line outputs (including balanced) in the Marantz AV7706 are controlled by a dedicated HDAM sound card. The result is increased slew rate, wider frequency range, improved channel separation and superior dynamics. Each channel of the Marantz AV7706 has a 32-bit AKM AK4458 DAC, which supports playback of Hi-Res formats, including DSD (up to 11.2 MHz), via USB and local network. The processor received the same design and housing construction as the SR7015 receiver, equipped with an amplification system: a metal front panel, a reinforced chassis, a display under the lid, and a second display in the form of a central porthole. Like the receiver, the Marantz AV7706 processor supports an HDMI 2.1 connection, passing through an 8K 60 Hz video signal, or the 4K 120 Hz option, which is especially popular in gaming. The eARC system will allow the TV volume control to be adapted to the entire system. ALLM, HDR10+, VRR, QMS and QFT are provided.
The Griffin Lite dual DSP processor will power the 11.2 preamp configuration with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X capabilities. The device is IMAX Enhanced certified and supports Auro 3D. Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room correction is provided. Also among the functions: dynamic volume, dynamic equalizer, LFC, Sub EQ HT.
For auto-calibration of speakers, the Marantz AV7706 uses the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 system with a “platinum” set of DSP algorithms. Technologies supported are Dynamic Volume (evens out the volume level, which is important when watching programs with advertising blocks), Dynamic EQ (optimizes the frequency response to obtain clear sound with full bass even at low volumes) and LFC (does not allow low frequencies to penetrate into adjacent rooms). There is Sub EQ HT technology to coordinate the operation of two subwoofers.
The AV processor uses dual-band Wi-Fi and built-in Bluetooth. AirPlay2 is supported and work in the HEOS wireless multiroom ecosystem makes it possible to “command” all its components through one application that allows you to broadcast local network files and streaming audio of web services over the air to HEOS devices, incl. Deezer, Spotify Connect, TuneIn, Amazon Music and TIDAL. You can control the Marantz AV7706 from the remote control, application or Amazon Alexa voice assistant.
