The Marantz AV8805 is equipped with 15.2-channel audio output, made on RCA and XLR connectors, which provides high connection flexibility, and also (when using a balanced connection) can radically reduce the level of interference with long connecting cables. The surround sound processor supports all existing formats, including object-based Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro-3D. All AV processor channels use high-end 24-bit/192 kHz DACs to ensure accurate audio processing and smooth surround sound. The device uses proprietary HDAM modules, which provide signal amplification with minimal distortion over a wide frequency range.

The Marantz AV8805 features a copper-clad chassis and a composite top panel. There is a round display in the center of the facade, and on the right and left there is an attenuator for adjusting the volume and an input selector. All other controls and a second, more functional display are located under the front panel cover. There are also AV connectors, a headphone jack, a 3.5 mm input for a calibration microphone, USB (with support for iPod/iPhone) and HDMI.

The power supply is equipped with a toroidal transformer. Each channel of the Marantz AV8805 features a 32-bit AK4490 DAC and a discrete HDAM module, and the circuit topology uses current feedback to improve sound performance.

To adjust the sound depending on the parameters of the room being sounded and the acoustics used, you can use the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 auto-calibration system. Sub EQ HT technology helps you properly tune the sound of a system with two subwoofers. Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ functions are provided to optimize signal level and frequency response, and Audyssey LFC prevents low frequencies from leaking into adjacent rooms. The Marantz AV8805 AV processor has eight HDMI inputs (including one on the front panel) with support for HDCP 2.2, HDR. BT2020, Dolby Vision and HLG. To connect display devices, the processor has three HDMI outputs. When analog video devices are connected to the AV processor, the signal from them can be converted for transmission via HDMI.
