The 7.2-channel Marantz Cinema 60 is the junior AV receiver in the updated line of AV receivers from the Japanese company, supporting work with three-dimensional object-based sound formats Dolby Atmos and DTS:X in a 5.1.2-channel version. DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization are available, providing virtually immersive 3D audio without the need for dedicated speakers in the system.
Three of the six HDMI ports support 8K (60Hz) video resolution, as well as the latest HDR10+ (with support for dynamic tone mapping) and Dynamic HDR. Features such as VRR (Variable Refresh Rate, variable refresh rate, eliminates lags and frame gaps, which is important for modern video games), QMS (Quick Media Switching, removes the blank black screen when switching sources), ALLM (auto-tuning) are available delay parameters in order to minimize it) and QFT (Quick Frame Transport, minimizing input delay). This HDMI port can also transmit a 4K signal at a frequency of 120 Hz. In addition, Marantz Cinema 60 can upscale any video to 8K.
For amplification, discrete HDAM modules are used with current feedback, a wide dynamic range and a very fast slew rate of the output signal. The receiver guarantees a nominal power of 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms and a maximum of 180 watts into 6 ohms. A similar module works in the receiver’s built-in MM phono preamplifier. The Audyssey MultEQ XT system helps calibrate speakers connected to the Marantz Cinema 60. Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume technologies are also used (optimization of frequency response and volume).
Supports playback of PCM (up to 24 bit/192 kHz) and DSD (up to 5.6 MHz) via USB and local network, for integration into which you can use LAN or 2-band Wi-Fi. The built-in Bluetooth module allows you not only to receive, but also to broadcast audio to wireless headphones. The model supports the AirPlay 2 protocol for iOS devices, the HEOS wireless ecosystem and interacts with voice assistants Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri, Google Assistant, Josh.ai. Online services TIDAL, Spotify Connect, Deezer, TuneIn, etc. are available. Work with the Roon audio platform is supported. To control the receiver, a remote control and a proprietary application are provided.
There are two HDMI outputs with support for 8K and an extended eARC return channel (eARC/ARC are available only on one HDMI Monitor 1 output), through which you can broadcast audio in DTS:X, Dolby Atmos, etc. Among the abundance of switching connectors, you can highlight a set S/PDIF inputs, 7.2-channel Pre Out and preamp output for zone 2. There are seven pairs of color-coded screw terminals for connecting speakers.
