The Onkyo TX-NR7100 AV receiver is a stripped-down copy of the previous model of the Onkyo TX-RZ740 receiver; the main differences are that the multi-channel output to the power amplifier has been removed from the new model. The Onkyo TX-NR7100 has a nine-channel configuration and is optimized for operation as part of installed AV systems. This device has passed THX certification, which guarantees high quality sound in home theaters based on it. The AV receiver is equipped with the latest technologies for reproducing sound from a variety of sources and is very easy to use thanks to its sophisticated control system.
The Onkyo TX-NR7100 features high-quality audio circuitry using proprietary Dynamic Amplification technology that operates over an extended frequency range. The output stages of the amplifiers are mounted on aluminum heat sinks with low resonance rates, and a custom transformer is used in the power supply of the AV receiver.
The Onkyo TX-NR7100 is equipped with decoders for all common surround sound formats, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Based on this model, it is possible to build 3D systems in configurations up to 5.2.4 without the use of external amplifiers. You can also create a virtual surround sound system using Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer technologies, and correct processing of IMAX content is also provided.
The AV receiver is equipped with seven HDMI inputs and two outputs that support 4K video transmission with Dolby Vision and HDR10 technologies. 1080p signals sent to these inputs can be upscaled to 4K resolution. HDMI inputs 1 to 3 and Main/Sub output support 8K/60p (4:2:0/10-bit). The AV receiver is equipped with a 32-bit / 384 kHz DAC, which provides accurate signal processing. To further eliminate low-level signal distortion, the AV receiver features proprietary VLSC technology.
The Onkyo TX-NR7100’s networking capabilities are built on a next-generation SoC that is removed from the audio circuitry to eliminate crosstalk. The AV receiver supports DTS Play-Fi, Chromecast and FlareConnect technologies, which allows it to be used as part of appropriate multi-room systems.
Network connectivity is possible via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and the Onkyo TX-NR7100 is capable of playing 24-bit/192 kHz (PCM) and DTS 11.2 MHz audio files. For integration into systems with external control, the AV receiver has RS-232, Ethernet interfaces, as well as a control trigger and a jack for an external IR sensor.
