Onkyo TX-RZ50

The Onkyo TX-RZ50 AV receiver has a set of cutting-edge features and can be used as part of installed home systems. The Onkyo TX-RZ50 packs a ton of power to control your speakers with confidence. Its massive chassis is filled with custom components, tested and matched to reference specifications, delivering high currents for a sound that is so soulful that you can feel it both emotionally and physically. With support for up to 7.2.2 channels of 3D surround sound, including the new IMAX Enhanced format, and intelligent audio processing that can breathe new life into old stereo music recordings, the receiver can easily become the center of all home entertainment.

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X let you project sound anywhere in 3D space, with effects moving from speaker to speaker throughout the room and surrounding the audience as they watch the latest movies and games. With 11.2-channel pre-out and 11-channel processing, you can enjoy 3D sound through a 7.2.4 speaker set (external 2-channel power amplifier required), or use the built-in amplifiers for 5.2.4 or 7.2.2 configurations. Watch classic movies through your height-enabled system using Dolby Surround® or DTS Neural:X, which extracts height signals from old soundtracks and further downmixes them for spatial playback.

When playing back recordings in any Dolby format, you can use the Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer, which provides greater immersion in the sound field by creating virtual surround and height effects from traditional speaker sets without the need to connect height speakers. Vocal Enhancer technology solves the problem of hard-to-hear dialogue in television programs and films. The DSP algorithm isolates speech frequencies so you can raise or lower their levels using the buttons on the remote control or the front panel controls.

The Onkyo TX-RZ50 received HDMI chips from Nuvoton Technology. The corresponding HDMI connectors will have a bandwidth of 40 Gbps. The AV receiver is equipped with seven HDMI inputs and three outputs, supporting HDCP 2.3, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and Dynamic HDR. HDMI inputs 1 to 3 and Main/Sub output support 8K/60p (4:2:0/10-bit), the rest support 4K/60Hz, HDCP 2.2/HDR10, Dolby Vision. H.L.G. The HDMI Main Out is compatible with eARC, which supports HD audio transmission from an eARC-compatible TV to an AV receiver via an HDMI cable. It works with 3D audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, as well as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™, lossless audio codecs. High-bitrate video and object-based audio streamed via a Smart TV or smartphone app, or via a connected media adapter, can now be decoded and amplified by the AV receiver in its original quality.

The Onkyo TX-RZ50 features a 12V trigger output for external components and an IR input to extend the range of the remote control. The receiver also supports IP control, RS-232C bus, and OSD output for installers. An optional mounting kit (IRK-180-4C) is available for rack mounting the receiver. To adjust the sound, the AV receiver uses proprietary Dirac Live technology, for which a special USB measuring microphone is supplied. It connects to a computer (PC or Mac) with a proprietary program installed, after which the device’s sound can be adjusted directly from the audience’s location.

The distribution of amplified digital/analog audio signals in three zones can be easily controlled from your smartphone. With cutting-edge connectivity, installer interfaces and intuitive controls, the TX-RZ50’s presence in the home is hard to resist. The Onkyo TX-RZ50 has a sleek design, an aluminum front panel and a durable chassis that reliably protects its circuitry from vibrations.
