Pioneer VSA-LX805

Pioneer introduces its top-of-the-line AV receiver model, the VSA-LX805. The new product offers 11 amplification channels of 150 Watts each (8 Ohms, 20 Hz – 20 kHz, THD 0.08%, when loading two channels), which allows you to implement a 7.2.4 configuration of a home theater surround sound system. The receiver is equipped with two 32-bit ESS Saber ES9026PRO DAC chips and cast aluminum radiators to cool the output amplification stages operating in class AB. UltraDAC ES9026PRO from ESS Technology, highly acclaimed in the field of high-quality audio, is used for all 11.2 channels. The capacitors used were PML MU condenser, developed jointly with Rubicon, to achieve high quality sound with a sense of transparency and openness In addition, to achieve information-rich sound, engineers used a “low ESR capacitor” to improve the signal processing precision of the digital circuit and achieve a high signal-to-noise ratio.

The Pioneer VSA-LX805 AV receiver features the latest version of Dirac Live Room Calibration, which uses artificial intelligence technology to analyze the acoustics of the listening room and adapt the sound of the theater system accordingly. The calibration functionality can be expanded with optional Dirac Live Bass Control software modules to control the operation of subwoofers. For one subwoofer this option will cost $350 US, for two bass modules – $400 US. Auto Phase Control Plus compensates for latency in low-frequency signals, while two-channel Advanced Sound Retriever technology decompresses compressed audio output for lossless audio.

The new product supports Auro3D and Dolby Atmos Music technologies, allowing you to enjoy wonderful surround sound, and also allows you to use streaming services through Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Josh. Pioneer promises that in September 2023, with a firmware update, the receiver will receive Roon Ready certification.

The Pioneer VSA-LX805 AV receiver offers seven inputs (one on the front panel) and three HDMI outputs. HDMI ports comply with the 2.1 specification with a throughput of up to 40 Gb/s and support video broadcasting at 8K / 60 Hz and 4K / 120 Hz resolution, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, as well as eARC. From analog switching, we note a stereo balanced input on XLR connectors and the same output from a preamplifier for the front channels. Balanced XLR inputs and outputs provide clearer audio reproduction, while low-impedance polymer capacitors reduce high-frequency digital noise for superior performance.

In addition, the receiver is equipped with a multi-channel unbalanced analog output 7.2.4. Integration into a computer network is possible either via Wi-Fi or wired via an Ethernet port. The receiver also has a Bluetooth adapter with aptX support for direct streaming of music from mobile gadgets or to wireless headphones or speakers. Watch movies, listen to music and play games as if you were in the producers’ studio. Thanks to a long-standing commitment to innovation and the hard work of Pioneer’s world-renowned engineers, the engineers have created yet another groundbreaking AV receiver.
