The Korg opsix mk2 frequency modulation synthesizer will go on sale in February 2024. This became known from the official press release of the company.

The second version of the popular six-operator instrument now supports 64 voices. Due to this, the synthesizer is able to create more complex and multi-layered sounds.

Otherwise, the synthesizer remains virtually unchanged. Users have access to six operating modes of operators for sound synthesis: subtractive, semi-modular, analog (modelling), waveforming, additive and classical frequency modulation.

The second generation of the synthesizer received a minimum of changes.

In addition, the instrument is equipped with a 16-step pattern sequencer with the ability to operate in polyphonic mode. This allows users to combine up to six notes in one step and edit their playback parameters independently.

The sequencer can also automate six different parameters for each pattern. In this way, you can create moving rhythmic patterns, the company notes.

Like the original opsix released in 2020 , the opsix mk2 features an expanded and flexible modulation section. Users have access to three envelope generators, three LFOs and 12 virtual patches for signal routing. At the same time, three effects sections are available for deep signal processing.

The Korg opsix mk2 will go on sale in early February 2024.
