The Beoplay A9 model from the legendary company Bang&Olufsen is a real masterpiece in terms of design and sound, this system cannot be confused with anything else! Unusual design, 320 Watts of clear sound, wired (AUX, Ethernet, USB) and wireless (Airplay) playback, as well as the ability to be installed on the floor or on the wall – all this makes Beoplay A9 the ideal acoustics for those who value both form and content!
The design of the acoustics is absolutely unique and does not have even approximate analogues – the audio system may remind you of a flying saucer, an easel or an unusual speaker from the future, but one way or another you cannot pass by the B&O Beoplay A9 and remain indifferent! When choosing a speaker system that would fit perfectly into your new interior, it is worth knowing that the design of Beoplay A9 can be changed using interchangeable color panels, and the easily unscrewed wooden legs allow it to be installed both on the floor and mounted on the wall! The A9 cable and connector block is hidden for a more elegant look, and when using Airplay or USB (playing from iPhone, iPod and iPad, as well as charging your gadget), you won’t notice the wires!
Paired Class D midrange and tweeter speakers provide crystal clear sound, while a powerful (160W) 8-inch subwoofer delivers superb bass! The design of the system body promotes a more acoustically natural direction of sound waves, so the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A9 sounds great in any room. The total power of the system is 320 Watts, which is enough even for a very large room – now you can easily turn your home into a cinema, concert hall or club!
In addition to design and sound, Beoplay A9 is distinguished by a rich set of functions, as well as very unusual solutions and extreme ease of operation. For example: to adjust the volume, you just need to slide your fingers across the front panel of the system (gesture support will certainly be a nice bonus for owners of Apple equipment). As already mentioned, Beoplay A9 can be used with many sources, which means this speaker can become a real center of multimedia capabilities for all your gadgets!
Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay A9 review
In the B&O BeoPlay A9 active wireless speaker system, the developers managed to combine high design aesthetics with excellent sound quality.
The Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay A9 model has the shape of a convex disk with a diameter of 70.1 cm and looks vaguely like a satellite dish mounted on three wooden legs, which are screwed into special grooves located in its rear part. This minimalist design, designed by Eivinn Alexander Slaatto, allows BeoPlay A9 to become a harmonious part of any modern interior. The design uses carefully selected materials, including high-strength plastic and metal parts. The grill is covered with fabric, the color of which can be chosen from seven available options.
The B&O BeoPlay A9 system features two three-quarter-inch tweeters, a pair of 3-inch midrange drivers and one 8-inch woofer. Each driver has a separate Class D amplifier: 80 W of power is supplied to each tweeter and midrange speaker, and 160 W to the bass driver. The bass reflex tube is located at the rear and combined with a carrying handle. It is possible to install a bracket (optional) for wall mounting of speakers.
The model has a built-in Wi-Fi module, supports Bluetooth (4.0) connectivity and the AirPlay function for wireless audio playback from iOS devices. There is support for the DLNA protocol for integration into a local network and playback of files stored on servers or computers. Spotify Connect, Deezer and TuneIn web services are available. You can control the speakers using the BeoMusic App via iOS or Android devices.
In the back of the B&O BeoPlay A9 case, under the cover, there is a recess in which there is a socket for the power cord, a reset button, a Wi-Fi connection button and a switch that allows you to select DSP sound settings for the speaker depending on where it is installed (usually location, in a corner or on the wall). The following inputs are also present: linear RCA, USB port with support for iPod/iPhone/iPad and Ethernet.
Touch controls deserve special attention. To adjust the volume level, simply slide your palm along the top edge of the rear panel of the speaker to the right or left. Using sensors, you can control playback and mute the sound. There is an indication of power supply, operating modes and connection to WLAN/Bluetooth.
The Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay A9 wireless speaker is convenient to use in large rooms. The model provides clear, dynamic and powerful three-dimensional sound with well-developed bass.
