Canton Chrono 30: Impressive and elegant bookshelf speakers

Canton Chrono 30
Canton Chrono 30

At first glance, the new Chrono series has not changed at all and remains true to its original design. However, a closer look reveals a new design style – aluminum diamond-cut rings, an improved internal structure of the cabinet (MDF) with a bass reflex opening at the bottom, a conical divider, and a one-piece socket design.

The aluminum chassis makes a great impression with its elegance. It is equipped with exclusive aluminum diamond-cut rings. These rings help to increase the mechanical reliability of the loudspeaker system, which is a particular advantage at high volumes. All this speaks of the high quality of the Chrono series products.

The proven system of aluminum-manganese tweeters transmits music signals with a frequency of up to 40,000 Hz. The transmission front panel, made of aluminum, acts as a waveguide and ensures the dispersion characteristics of the system.

Durable and acoustically neutral fabric lining hides the internal device from view. It exactly matches the size of the reflective board. Rear-Fix lining fastening on the rear surface of the loudspeaker is a practical find of this series.

Features of the Canton Chrono series

The use of new screwless rings gives the systems a clearer look and a modern style.
Double cone membranes used in the LF speakers of the Chrono 90 DC and Chrono 80 DC systems increase the strength of the diaphragms, and the seamless surfaces of the membranes give an additional visual accent.
High-quality titanium membranes provide natural and extremely accurate sound. Such membranes are used in more expensive premium series.
The speaker housings are now deeper, their internal volume has increased and as a result – more energetic sound.
The new base of the acoustic system in combination with the rear bass reflex completely changes the usual idea of the Chrono series.
A new coating of the housing with a high-quality film of structured foil is used. The front panel is covered with natural varnish, and the protective grilles are now conveniently attached with magnets.
