DALI, countering the trend of differentiating speaker systems based on the content they play, has released a new subwoofer DALI SUB C-8 D, which works equally well with the low frequencies of both films and soundtracks, including those broadcast through streaming video/audio servers or offered in the form of Ultra Blu- ray content.

DALI SUB C-8 D with adjustable gain, cut-off frequency and phase has a built-in class D amplifier with an operating power of up to 170 W and a peak power of up to 220 W, and on the rear panel there is a compact LFE mono input for home cinema, as well as Stereo RCA ports (with low pass filter). Other rear panel functions include crossover frequency adjustment, phase switch, volume (gain), and standby on/off switch (auto mode). The DALI SUB C-8 D subwoofer is built around an 8-inch woofer with a DALI filament fiber cone and a 26.5 mm long voice coil, which, according to the developer, allows you to reproduce the smallest low-frequency nuances when playing soundtracks, even at high sound pressure levels.

The DALI SUB C-8 D subwoofer enclosure is made from MDF, designed and manufactured to DALI’s exacting specifications and comes in Black Ash or White, making it ideal to match most speaker designs and room decors. The compact 335 x 295 x 310mm enclosure is effectively separated from the floor by four oversized polymer peaks, and the 30mm spacing eliminates any potential turbulence in the space between the enclosure and the floor itself.

This model also has an automatic switching system when a signal appears at the input. The DALI SUB C-8 D subwoofer has been designed in such a way that it can be used equally well in home cinema and stereo systems. Thanks to its small size and very high-quality external finishing, the subwoofer fits perfectly into a residential interior, and finding the optimal location for it is not difficult.
