If you’re wondering how the German manufacturer GGNTKT came up with its somewhat unwieldy name: it’s simply the word “Push-Pull” with the vowels removed. GGNTKT is active in studio monitor construction – and is now introducing a particularly ambitious active loudspeaker with the Model M3.
GGNTKT Model M3: Bass concept with cardioid directional characteristics
The manufacturer’s M model family has been around since 2019 and was founded by the compact M1 monitor. The M3 model was developed to satisfy customer demands for physically more expansive and powerful monitors for larger listening rooms and listening distances.

The GGNTKT Model M3 is a three and a half way active speaker. What is particularly worth mentioning here is the special design of the low-frequency range with its cardioid directional characteristic – this refers to a heart-shaped radiation pattern. This results from the use of two 26 cm subwoofers with a long-throw design, one of which radiates to the front and one to the rear – and which run in parallel in the frequency range of 100 – 200 Hertz. In this way, defined cancellations between the front and rear bass drivers create a very special directional characteristic with a high concentration level – down to 35 Hertz.
Unusual crossover frequencies and quasi-point sound source
The midrange of the GGNTKT Model M3 is handled by a 21 cm cone loudspeaker with a light paper membrane and demodulated drive – rather early at 200 Hertz and also very steep (36 dB). For the very low coupled high frequency range (1,100 Hertz), GGNTKT uses a 44 mm compression driver with a horn attachment. The unusually low and steep separation, especially between the tweeter and midrange speaker, is intended to create a quasi-point sound source and thus enable good spatial imaging even at short listening distances.
How much power can it have? Model variants M3 and M3 S
All four drivers of a channel are powered by four separate Class D power amplifiers, and there are two versions of the GGNTKT M3 with different outputs – 1,000 or 1,500 watts (model name GGNTKT M3 S) total amplifier channel power is available. A DSP crossover with linear-phase filters is responsible for allocating the frequency ranges. If you like, you can change the factory-specified crossover frequencies of the GGNTKT Model M3 – or simply switch between cardioid and classic radiation. Various settings can be made via USB connection and your own system software, and room measurements can also be carried out in this way.
The GGNTKT Model M3 is available ex works in pure white or graphite black; individual painting according to the RAL color palette is possible upon request and for a moderate additional charge. The M3’s housing is made of milled Valchromat, a wood fiber material that is 30% more dense and stable than standard MDF boards.
