Q Acoustics launches 3000c product line

British speaker manufacturer Q Acoustics introduces the affordable 3000c product line of speakers. Building on the company’s most popular 3000i speaker series , this new series continues the company’s track record of delivering sonic performance and high-quality design and construction far beyond its class. According to the designers, the 3000c is the perfect entry point into a modern audiophile world or as a cost-effective speaker upgrade. Delivery will begin in August and Q Acoustics can also supply packages for creating a multi-channel setup.

Five new speakers for music and home cinema

The new speaker series from Q Acoustics features a C3 Continuous Curved Cone midrange/woofer, first introduced in the 5000 series and the M40 . Q Acoustics’ latest technical platform elevates the 3000c above its peers, delivering a sound defined by an articulate and fast midrange, controlled yet powerful bass dynamics and nuanced and detailed high frequencies, along with an exceptional soundstage never before seen. this level is experienced.

The 3000c family consists of the monitor models 3010c, 3020c and 3030c, the floorstanding 3050c and finally the center model 3090c for building a home theater.

C3 Continuous curved cone design

Significant advances in speaker driver design are rare, but the C3 driver successfully addresses the shortcomings in the established drive unit design.

Originally available in the 5000 Series speakers, the C3 driver is the result of extensive research and uncompromising engineering – it combines the bass performance benefits of a traditional straight taper cone with the midrange and high-end control of a flared cone.

The driver’s single, smooth, continuous curve profile delivers numerous positive results, including smoother integration with the tweeter, thanks to its excellent dispersion and well-controlled frequency response. Low-frequency dynamics and control also benefit, meaning greater flexibility in the positioning of speakers relative to the wall boundaries of the listening room. Harmonic distortion is reduced, while the scale and accuracy of the soundstage are improved. And the C3 driver is also more resistant to standing waves in the cabinet than less advanced drive units.

Evolution in design

Q Acoustics launches 3000c product line

The 3000c series evolves the signature look and feel of the 3000i to reflect evolving tastes in interior design. Building on Q Acoustics’ reductive design ethos and echoing the unadorned character of the C 3 profile, the 3000c is visually minimalist, with no noticeable joints or bolts. A new, elegant one-piece driver trim in satin nickel and satin chrome (white only) offers a refined enhancement to the cabinet front, while all new finishes complete the design aspect of the range.

Available in four new, modern and high-quality finishes, the 3000c series will feel at home in any living space. The introduction of a new lighter (Pin Oak) and darker wood (Claro Rosewood) upholstery, in addition to the new but classic Satin White and Satin Black finishes first seen in the 5000 Series, reflects the contemporary design character of this new loudspeaker family.

The floorstanding model 3050c features a stylish, solid aluminum stabilizer design first introduced in the M40. The entire range features top-adjustable spikes for easier leveling and also includes a 5000 Series connection panel, with low-profile speaker terminals for easy positioning near a wall.

Innovations in housing and drivers

Q Acoustics launches 3000c product line

Each model in the 3000c Series features the acoustic cabinet innovations first introduced in the high-end Concept Series loudspeakers, including tweeter housing design, P2P (Point 2 Point) bracing and (in the floorstanding 3050c) Helmholtz Pressure Equalizers (HPE) tube technology.

Based on the design principles of the 5000 series and the new Concept series before it, the 3000c tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated or ‘floating’ from the front. This prevents internal pressure modulations from the cabinet and from the adjacent midrange/woofer. The inner chamber is also precisely ventilated for less distortion, with a lower crossover point for optimal integration through the crossover area.

The groundbreaking C3 cone is at the heart of the 3000c midrange/woofer. The geometry of the cone requires exceptional motor power for optimal performance. For this reason, substantial magnets are linked to the voice coils. The control of the large magnets ensures good dynamic response, headroom and tight bass. In addition to these benefits, the large magnets also ensure that the pole plate and yoke are nearly saturated, which reduces flux modulation and harmonic distortion

Q Acoustics: P2P (Point to Point) and HPE (Helmholtz Pressure Equalizers) technology

P2P internal bracing has been applied to internal parts of the cabinet that are sensitive to low frequency reverberation. This amplification produces a sharper stereo image and a wider, better controlled sound image.

The 3050c, like all floorstanding speakers, is vulnerable to internal pressure build-up that causes unwanted standing waves and discoloration. To prevent this, specially designed HPE tubes are installed in the cabinet to negate internal pressure and improve frequency response.

Home theater setup

The new 3000c series is not only suitable for two-channel use, but can also form a talented yet powerful 5.1 home theater setup. The system comes in two 5.1 combinations: the 3010c 5.1 and the 3050c 5.1 speaker packages. At the heart of this home entertainment range is the center model 3090c, which delivers dynamic and crisp dialogue, while buyers can choose from the sleek 3060S subwoofer or the more powerful Q B12 for powerful yet nuanced bass and a truly immersive cinematic experience.

New sustainable packaging

Finally, as a leading audio company, Q Acoustics is continually evolving its ethos around sustainability. The new 3000c series features durable and recyclable eggcrate packaging that replaces the existing EPS (expanded polystyrene) and will provide better protection for the speakers and the environment.
