The European division of the renowned American company Steinway & Sons has introduced its latest offering: the Model C active floor-standing speakers. These speakers feature an open dipole design, which not only enhances their compactness but also ensures they blend seamlessly into any room without cluttering the space. To achieve this design, the speakers forego a built-in low-frequency section. Instead, they are complemented by an external branded subwoofer such as the LSR-212 or LSR-210, LS BW, Model M BW, or Model S-210.
The Model C body is built on an aluminum frame with MDF panels and a steel base. The tweeter is AMT with a Kapton diaphragm, mid frequencies are emitted by two 5.25” drivers with magnesium alloy domes. The amplifiers are digital A1 or A2, the crossover function must be performed by an external stereo or multi-channel processor from Steinway & Sons, which also implements the RoomPerfect room acoustics correction system.
Frequency range 250 Hz – 22 kHz (-3 dB), amplifier power 2 x 400 W, maximum sound pressure level (1 m) 117 dB. Dimensions 300 x 1323 x 386 mm, weight of one speaker 42.4 kg. Design: black glossy lacquer with gold or chrome accents, other options available on request.
