UBSound, an Italian loudspeaker manufacturer, has introduced the F85, a hand-built floorstanding speaker. The F85 stands out due to its fullrange driver and the absence of a built-in crossover.

UBSound is a Milan-based company founded in 2011 and specialized in audio products. The core activity of the company is the development and manufacturing of high-quality handmade premium loudspeakers. Development and production take place in Italy. The manufacturer announces the launch of the new F85 handmade floorstanding speaker to celebrate its 13th anniversary. This new series complements the brand’s existing product range and promises exceptional sound quality.
The F85 is said to be the result of about two years of research and development. The developers subjected numerous prototypes to extensive testing in anechoic, semi-echoic and domestic environments. This series is an example of the UBSound philosophy, which consistently relies on acoustic naturalness of speakers without crossover filters.
CEO Marzio Gasparro is convinced that the UBSound F85 has everything it takes to achieve UBSound’s ambitious design goals: “We may have created the best full-range speaker of all time, aimed at competent audiophiles who appreciate beauty. The F85 is truly Made in Italy, offering maximum expression of naturalness of sound, without electro-acoustic obstacles, with a direct path from amplifier to driver. All characteristics that we like to describe as a simple passion for perfect sound and true Italian class.”
The F85 has a recommended amplifier power of between 5 watts and 250 watts, a nominal impedance of eight ohms and a fairly high sensitivity of 90 dB (2.83 volts / 1 meter). The stated frequency response is from 26 Hz to 22 kHz and all that with one driver, which has a diameter of 21 centimeters. UBSound supplies a magnetically attachable protection front with an acoustically transparent design. Furthermore, the F85 has internal sound-absorbing materials based on UBSound’s exclusive HDNSS audio technology, special rubber gel coupling feet and high-quality internal cabling.
These handcrafted speakers are finished in an elegant, reflective, high-gloss finish in fashionable black, using automotive-grade painting techniques. This finish surpasses the audio industry’s standard piano black in both feel and appearance. Measuring 93 x 26 x 31 centimetres (H x W x D), the F85 weighs in at 25 kilograms. The F85 will reach peak sound quality after approximately 150 hours of play.
The F85 model is now available for order and the production time is ten to twelve weeks.
