Xounts: 360 degree sound system

XOUNTS
XOUNTS

Xounts is a German manufacturer based in Hamburg. The company has developed the Xounts Soundsystem, a loudspeaker with the shape of an obelisk that spreads sound 360 degrees. The new company tries to stand out not only technically, but also with the striking and interchangeable covers for the Xounts Soundsystem. How does that sound? No idea, but it’s an original idea.

Xounts: flat membrane technology

According to the designers, one copy of the Xounts 360 degree speakers should be enough to fill a room. The Xounts obelisks work with flat membrane technology, but more technical details are not known at this time. To fit into today’s smart home environments, the sound system can act as a smart light source. The company offers its own app for intuitive operation.

Xounts: Selectable “Style Covers” for personalization

The second distinguishing element of the obelisks are the interchangeable covers, “Style Covers”, which on the one hand function as a protective cover and on the other hand as an individual eye-catcher with a wide choice of designs. You can choose between contemporary art and iconic motifs from the music industry. The portfolio also includes collaborations with artists such as Snoop Dogg, AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Iron Maiden and Motörhead. For example, Snoop Dogg himself is said to be a customer of the company. The former frontman of the band Van Halen, Sammy Hagar, now works as a brand ambassador and official partner of Xounts Inc. in the U.S. If Xounts becomes a success, there will probably be more covers. If a cover were to go out of fashion, the owner could simply purchase another cover.

The Xounts starter package costs 589 euros. For that money, the buyer gets one speaker in the shape of an obelisk (with a choice of a white or black base), a Bluetooth module, an LED lamp and a Pure Glow Style Cover. Additional covers cost between 59 euros and 139 euros.
