Renowned British premium audio brand Bowers & Wilkins has unveiled the new McLaren Edition of its award-winning Zeppelin wireless all-in-one audio system , created in collaboration with its long-time partner McLaren Automotive. The new McLaren-inspired version of the speaker celebrates both the partnership between the two leading brands and McLaren’s 60th anniversary.
Following the success of the Px8 McLaren Edition headphones, Bowers & Wilkins has created a special edition version of the Zeppelin wireless speaker, featuring a sophisticated galvanic gray finish and subtle papaya orange highlights inspired by McLaren Automotive’s design approach. Reflecting McLaren’s technical and performance aesthetic, the Zeppelin McLaren Edition offers the premium sound synonymous with the Bowers & Wilkins brand, coupled with a design that connects McLaren fans with the visual identity of the McLaren brand.
The Zeppelin McLaren Edition is a complete stereo system in one component, a wireless smart speaker reimagined for the streaming age. It features reference quality speakers housed in dedicated left and right channel units around a central large bass driver. The speakers are served by amplifiers with a total power of 240 W. The result is stereo sound that fills the entire room. Combining proven acoustic solutions with a high-resolution audio streaming platform, it was possible to achieve exceptional music reproduction quality.
Along with the release of the new Zeppelin McLaren Edition, Bowers & Wilkins introduced the possibility of building a multi-room wireless system. The new model, along with all compatible Zeppelins, will now receive enhanced multi-room capabilities – with both Panorama 3 and the Formation line of wireless speakers. This allows Bowers & Wilkins users to easily connect and set up their home wireless distributed audio system – all easily done using the Bowers & Wilkins Music app.
Bowers & Wilkins also announces a limited edition Zeppelin, created to commemorate McLaren’s 60th anniversary and the legacy of Bruce McLaren. Only sixty examples of the Zeppelin McLaren 60th Anniversary Edition will be produced. This limited-edition version features race-inspired colors, including a vibrant orange finish that enhances the instantly recognizable Zeppelin silhouette, while the Speedy Kiwi graphic on the back pays tribute to Bruce McLaren’s innovative vision. Sixty limited edition models are available exclusively at selected McLaren dealerships worldwide.
Since 2015, Bowers & Wilkins has been responsible for the development of high-quality audio systems used in McLaren Automotive supercars and hypercars. The partnership is built on a strong technical foundation, while at the same time based on the shared values of both brands to provide the highest possible level of quality. Most recently, Bowers & Wilkins worked closely with McLaren’s design and engineering teams to create and optimize the audio system found in the company’s latest supercar, the McLaren 750S. Like its predecessors, the 750S features the latest acoustic technology developed at Southwater, where Bowers & Wilkins’ research team has been based since 2019, and just 30 miles from McLaren’s technology center in Woking.
Dan Shepard , Vice President of Licensing and Partnerships at Bowers & Wilkins , commented: “I am thrilled to introduce the latest addition to our expanding product portfolio, developed in collaboration with our partners at McLaren Automotive. The Zeppelin McLaren Edition joins the highly successful Px8 McLaren Edition, creating a uniquely compelling and innovative range of wireless products that I am confident will find loyal customers among McLaren and Bowers & Wilkins fans alike. “
