Sony HT-AX7: Portable soundbar with removable satellites
Sony has released the original product HT-AX7 , which is a cross between a Bluetooth speaker and a home theater soundbar.
The main part of the kit looks like a miniature soundbar, and on its top panel there are two puck-shaped wireless satellites. All surfaces are covered with acoustic fabric made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
The connection between the main speaker and the signal source is carried out only via Bluetooth, the model lacks not only HDMI ARC, but even a 3.5 mm input. The signal is then transmitted to detachable surround speakers that can be placed in the rear hemisphere behind the listener. The Sound Field algorithm helps to create additional volume , which can be turned on and off at will.
The built-in rechargeable batteries in all columns are charged when the main unit is connected to the mains, a full charge should be enough for 30 hours of operation.
The main soundbar has two Sony X-Balanced ovoid broadband radiators and two passive radiators, each satellite has one broadband speaker. All major functions can be controlled using the proprietary Home Entertainment Connect application .
The Sony HT-AX7 Wireless Soundbar will be available in the European market in September 2023 for €600.
