Design

This Bang & Olufsen Beolit 20 is a  portable speaker with a size that is not particularly portable, but it has elements focused on making it relatively easy to transport. With dimensions of 230 x 135 x 189 mm and a weight of 2.7 kg , it incorporates a  handle on the top so that we can carry it more easily. This point is important if you plan to move it between rooms or even if you are going to take it to another place.

The controls are located on the top, where we have  five buttons, an LED and the wireless charging area that we will talk about later.

It is available in two colors:  gray mist and black anthracite . If you are looking for an elegant wireless speaker, with personality, with presence… we have no doubt that this model is a wonderful option.

Sound quality

This is a fact that is very important to value. According to the manufacturer, this Bang & Olufsen Beolit 20 is suitable for rooms between  10 and 50 square meters . This is thanks to its ability to reproduce  360º sound , thanks to the speaker’s own design. Don’t forget to place it somewhere where it has some air, that is, don’t mount it against a wall or hide it behind furniture if you want to take advantage of this enveloping capacity.

Its maximum power is  240W , but we can also pair it  in stereo with another Beolit 20 or Beolit 17 to maximize its possibilities. This model gives us a sound that is very rich in nuances and intense. In addition, we have  customizable equalization through the  Bang & Olufsen app .

If we opened its interior, we would find up to  six speakers : 3 of them 1.5″ full range, 1 5.5″ with long-range bass and 2 4″ with passive bass. In addition, it incorporates  two 35W class D amplifiers for bass and treble.

The frequency range is  56 – 22700 Hz and the maximum sound pressure is  93 dB SPL . Likewise, its bass capacity is 77 dB SPL .

Connectivity and battery

It is also worth noting that this device comes with a Qi 5W wireless charging base on top  , which will allow us to charge our devices, such as our cell phone or even our headphones, in a super comfortable way. Forget about searching for cables and simply place the device on its top and it will start charging.

Speaking of batteries, this wireless model has a capacity of  3,200 mAh , which allows us to have up to  8 hours of autonomy . Please note that this data is based on ideal medium volume conditions. If you are constantly raising and lowering the volume, if you always use it at full speed, if you pair it in stereo, if you are changing songs every few minutes… all this makes the battery drain a little faster, but in any case , keep in mind that it is not anything worrying either, so from here we invite you to use it exactly as you like.

Its charging time is about  3 hours , a figure that seems quite average to us considering that its autonomy is not really crazy either. As an advantage, we find charging via  USB-C .

Let’s now talk about its connectivity. At this point, we can mention that it has Bluetooth 4.2 , so that we can use it wirelessly. Of course, you can also use it through  USB-C and jack .
